Our Xmas Tree Is Finally Here!

It’s finally here, the mooooost wonderful time of the year and I’m honestly the happiest girl with the happiest little ones around, we have “officially” a Christmas tree up in our new home!
The past weekend, we pulled out our dusty box of ornaments and decorations,  got a few new ones, play some Holiday tunes and got our tree up with our kiddos. Funny story, I wanted to continue our tradition of buying a real tree that’s been around for 5 years now, but, we don’t have the room to fit it in our living room. Even though I’ll miss that magical fresh pine smell dearly, we decided to set up our pine outside (yes, outside), in our patio for the first time, where we can all see it, even with a bit of snow on top.

Whenever you are planning to start your Christmas decor (hopefully soon this week), I want to show you a few tips on how to get you in a festive mood and not only you but the entire family with the help of our Google Home Mini. By now it’s pretty clear our absolute love for this tiny device that has changed our lives (for ultra good), and believe it or not, during the Holiday season, you can expect a lot more fun from it, a total Google HO HO HO!

I’ve blogged a lot of pictures here, and a few ideas to get that festive mood ON,  and more reasons to cozy up with your family, right-now.

Showing your little kiddos what Santa is all about

For the first time this year, Nico took in all seriousness his big brother role, and now that Oli is almost a two-year-old lady, he’s eager to teach her the best, aka Santa. One thing I’ve learned as a busy mom of two is that embracing technology has been a bliss in every single way, especially discovering our Google Home(s) – we have a total of three but more on that later. We showed Nico how Google Home Mini can respond to everything about Santa, including questions like:
Hey Google, where does Santa live? where is Santa Claus? What’s Christmas? or is Santa real? Your Google Assistant will help track Santa (with the help of Google Maps) whether he’s doing a bit more shopping or preparing his sleigh. While we asked all these questions, Nico and Oli picked their favorite tree ornaments and helped us untangle our messy Christmas lights to start our tree business.

Turn on your tree hands-free, (I’m not kidding here)

After we finished our Santa conversation, these two ran outside to start decorating our tree. It is our first Christmas in our first home and we made it extra special with a big tree (bigger compared to all our past ones) and a special location that we never tried before. To make all our season bright and especially hands-free, Google Home Mini can turn on and off your Christmas tree, using just your voice – the future IS here. The next big question from all of you, is how right? you’ll just need a smart outlet like this one that can be paired with your Google Assistant, and it will allow you control any device plugged into it, like your Christmas lights. What’s even better, is that you can set automatic schedules and turn on and off your lights whenever you want, WIN! say bye to the old days of OMG I forgot to turn off the tree again.

Decorations are up, so let’s plan your next vacations, the smart way!

We are all about vacation planning lately after coming back from our Mexico vacations, and Google Home Mini has been my bestie when it comes to smart planning by knowing when is the best time and the most affordable one to do it. Besides knowing the exact ETAs of places around the city with Google Maps, you can also check up on flight status, flight destinations, and flight prices helping you plan your next time off so easily like I did.  We are traveling this upcoming January (again, I know) and after asking my Assistant to look for different prices to Cancun, I immediately started receiving daily updates on deals on my email that you can actually book it via Google in just one click and zero fuss!
You are welcome (:

Entertain showing memories on your TV

One of my favorite thing about Google Home Mini is how you can integrate every device you have and make it smart, making it so perfect for a hands-free life. While you play music, things can be happening on multiple devices, aka lights, TV and a bunch more, and during the holidays, I either ask my Google Assistant to play a fireplace on my living room TV (directly from YouTube or Netflix) or to show our 2017 Best photos, by just saying: Hey Google, play photos on my TV or play a fireplace on my TV.

This is so sweet, and super festive!!! Love the idea of the tree outside too, saves the needles from dropping inside (although that is part of the fun I guess…ha!) I also love that the Google home can turn the lights on and off…say what?!
